Director, Office of Enterprise Security

Trent Carpenter is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the State of Michigan, and in that capacity also serves as the Director of the Michigan Department of Technology’s Office of Enterprise Security (OES).

As a member of Michigan’s award-winning IT security team, Trent has participated in numerous initiatives to help protect the State of Michigan and its citizens in an increasingly complex world of technology.  Most recently, Trent served as Manager of the OES Risk Management and Compliance Section.  He is MDIT’s Emergency Management Coordinator and is an active member of the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC).

Trent is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) with over 15 years of experience in the IT security field.  He earned a Computer Science degree from Michigan State University’s College of Engineering, and his Finance degree from MSU’s Eli Broad College of Business.
