13Poverty Summit draws almost 5,000 to provide solutions to reduce poverty and maximize economic opportunities DETROIT - Almost 5,000 people attending the 2008 Voices for Action Poverty Summit on Thursday committed to invest in solutions and programs that increase economic opportunities and reduce poverty in the state.

Exhibit helps find adoptive families for foster children The 2008 Michigan Heart Gallery, a touring photo exhibit featuring stirring portraits of 60 Michigan foster children who are waiting to be adopted, is on display in the main rotunda of the Michigan Hall of Justice in Lansing from Nov. 10 - 25. The photographs in the Heart Gallery were taken by more than 40 professional photographers who donated their time, talent and resources to take the pictures that help capture the spirit of the children in the foster care system.
