Get Approved to Inspect Playgrounds for Child Care Centers

If you are a playground safety inspector certified through the National Recreation and Park Association or the National Program for Playground Safety and you would like to inspect playgrounds for child care centers, you must be approved by the Child Care Licensing Division.

To get on the approved list, you will have to attend a mandatory meeting held by the division. If you would like to be on the approved list, send an email to Colleen Nelson at NelsonC7@michigan.gov with Playground Inspector List in the subject line. In the body of the email include your name, company name, email address, phone number, and certification number.
