Accessibility Features

The Michigan Career and Technical Institute campus is designed to accommodate persons with all types of disabilities. These are some of our accessible features:

  • Automatic doors at the main entrance
  • Elevators between floors
  • Public telephones lowered for wheelchair users
  • TTY communication devices
  • Lever-type door handles on frequently used doors
  • All indoor student facilities located along an accessible route in one building
  • Wheelchair-accessible public rest rooms
  • Dormitory rooms/bathrooms for wheelchair users
  • Interpreter services available for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Work station modifications for wheelchair users
  • Assistive devices, including custom made, for specific disability-related needs
  • Reserved handicapper parking spaces, including for vans
  • Wheelchair ramps along the primary outdoor campus pathway
