Mission

The BJJ training function will assist managers in developing staff competencies (knowledge & skills) to deliver quality services by:

  • Advising.
  • Assessing needs and developing, writing and delivering quality training programs, conferences and in-service events.
  • Conducting follow-up of implementation.
  • Continuing research and program development in critical areas.
  • Becoming the clearinghouse and focal point for training information for the Michigan juvenile justice community.

Vision

The Training Unit of the Bureau of Juvenile Justice will be a catalyst in training excellence for private and public juvenile justice agencies on a local and state level through collaboration, technology and effective partnerships.

Purpose

Provides training programs for juvenile justice professionals.
