Michigan Stream Team partners 

 

Many governmental agencies in Michigan are involved in various aspects of stream channel stabilization or rehabilitation. Many of these agencies use morphological analysis tools to determine stream stability and natural stream design. Staff from state and federal agencies formed Michigan's Stream Team in 2002 to share resources and develop common methods for collecting stream data that were used to create regional reference curves for the entire state of Michigan.  Michigan's Stream Team consists of representatives from the:

The Stream Team's goals are to: 

  • Produce regional reference curves for Michigan 
  • Develop and manage a database for the reference reach data including determining the quality control necessary for stream data to be entered 
  • Train the Morphology Workgroup and others on stream morphology 
  • Serve as a technical resource to advance stream morphology science to Michigan agencies and interest groups
