RETAP Mission and Goals

The mission of RETAP is to provide quality pollution prevention assistance to Michigan’s small businesses and institutions.  Identify opportunities that would reduce the volume of waste materials generated by manufacturing and commercial operations.  Facilitate the implementation of P2 opportunities.

The goals for the program are to reduce the generation of waste materials produced by Michigan businesses and institutions and quantify the effectiveness of program services through measurements by:

  • Providing free and confidential on-site P2 assessment services to any small business and institution in Michigan that generates waste materials.
  • Facilitate the adoption of P2 by sharing information on the effectiveness of recommended technologies, while respecting the confidentiality of our customers.
  • Provide information on financial resources available to businesses and institutions for P2.
