The Michigan Automotive Pollution Prevention Project (Auto Project) was a voluntary pollution prevention and resource conservation partnership between DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company, General Motors Corporation (Auto Companies), and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. The primary focus of the partnership was to eliminate wastes through source reduction and sound environmental management practices.
Status
Recent efforts continued to center on increased participation byMichigan's auto assembly plants in the Michigan Business Pollution Prevention Partnership (MBP3). A complete listing of MBP3 partners can be found at - www.michigan.gov/documents/deq/deq-ess-p2-mbp3-partners_246865_7.pdf. In addition to the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the auto supply industry has continued to support collaborative efforts throughout the auto industry resulting in an increase of participating facilities in the MBP3. These collaborative efforts continue to include discussions with several automotive related associations and organizations.
