Michigan is one of 28 states that are required to control both fine particle pollution and ozone transport and subject to EPA's Clean Air Interstate Rule CAIR. MDEQ has begun the process to revise and develop new air pollution control rules (SOAHR 2005-036 EQ and 2005-037 EQ) to comply with those regulations. During this process, draft rule package updates, meeting notes, copies or presentations, comments and summaries will be available for downloading from this page. Clean Air Markets Division Data and Maps

On December 23, 2008, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia has issued a remand for the EPA CAIR regulations and removed the vacatur. This means that CAIR is back in play and the CAIR NOx annual program became effective on January 1, 2009. The CAIR NOx ozone season begins in May of 2009.

Below are the latest drafts of the allocations for 2012-2014 . These will be updated and sent to EPA after final facility review. If you have any changes please contact me at coopert@michigan.gov.
