DEQ Director to Moderate Climate Change Forum at Central Michigan University

Department of Environmental Quality Director Steven E. Chester will moderate the next meeting of the Griffin Policy Forum at Central Michigan University. The forum, titled "Can Climate Change Heat Up Michigan's Economy?" will be held on Wednesday, April 9, from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. at CMU's Plachta Auditorium in Warriner Hall.

Director Chester will moderate the forum that will cover issues including transforming Michigan into a leader in clean energy, mandating a renewable electric standard, creating a climate action plan for Michigan, the costs associated with climate change, and actions the state government should take now. Panel members for the forum include Jon Allan of Consumers Energy, Jim Croce from NextEnergy, Lana Pollack from the Michigan Environmental Council, and Michael E. Witt, Ph.D. from The Dow Chemical Company.

A public reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Warriner Hall's second floor lobby. Admission to the forum and the reception is free and open to the public. For more information, visit http://www.chsbs.cmich.edu/griffin.
