The Department's Minority Advisory Panel (MAP) has scheduled its 11th annual conference, "Breaking the Silence - Recognizing the Difference." It will be on Friday, September 21 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn South in Lansing, MI.
The keynote speaker for the event will be local author Rita Bunton. The day will include a discussion about the Department's budget, workshops on professionalism, behavior-based interviewing, health and wellness, and more.
Seven hours of training credit have been approved for employees who attend this session. Employees who are approved to attend will be considered to be working and not on administrative leave. However, due to the budget crisis facing state government, reimbursement will not be provided for registration or travel expenses nor is the use of state vehicles permitted.
Pre-registration is requested. Please send certified check or money order (no personal checks) for $50.00 by September 15.
