Employment Dynamics Data
A variety of labor force information is now being produced through a joint effort of U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and state labor departments. Information submitted by employers about workers covered by the unemployment insurance system (approximately 98% of all employees) is combined with other administrative data and survey data to produce datasets for analyzing changes in labor force status over time..
Quarterly Workforce Indicators are statistics for states, counties and other designated labor markets on employment, job creation, new hires, recalls, separations, job losses, duration of employment, turnover, earnings, and measures of change from previous periods. These statistics are available by age, sex, and detailed industry classification.
The Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics Program also includes on-line mapping capability and other tools for accessing data on workforce changes.
The Business Employment Dynamics dataset can be used to analyze patterns of employment change for businesses by geographic area and industry.
