Teen Second Life

Teen Second Life is an international gathering place for teens 13-17 to make friends and to play, learn and create. In Teen Second Life , teens can create and customize a digital self called an "avatar," fly through an ever-changing 3D landscape, chat and socialize with other teens from all over the world, and build anything from skyscrapers to virtual vehicles. It's more than a videogame and much more than an Internet chat program - it's a boundless world of surprise and adventure that encourages teens to work together and use their imaginations.

An innovative feature of this website is the user interactivity. Teen Second Life users are solely responsible for the design and usability of the virtual environment. Teenagers can also create and completely customize buildings, vehicles, aircrafts and even entire communities where business and other commerce can be exchanged.

Teen Second Life can also become a viable means of employment for aspiring young entrepreneurs.   This virtual world has its own economy and a currency referred to as Linden Dollars (LD$). Residents regularly create new goods and services, and buy and sell them in the Teen Second Life virtual world. All new content created by Teen Second Life residents are copyright protected, users can buy and even sell content to other users for LD$ that can be transferred to real US$.

How Do I Join?

Teenagers interested in joining the growing population of Teen Second Life residents can do so at no cost. The first basic account set-up is free, which includes access to events, shopping, building, scripting- just about everything you can do in Second Life you can do in Teen Second Life .  Additional basic accounts cost a one-time fee of $9.95.  A Premium Second Life account, starting at $9.95 a month, allows you to obtain land on which you can build, promote/sell, entertain and live.
