All Department of Management & Budget (DMB), Purchasing Operations solicitations are posted solely on the Web site. The State will no longer be maintaining two sites for bid posting. All present links to Bids and Proposals for DMB Purchasing Operations will be redirected to the new site. Vendors who have not yet registered on the new bid system, will be unable to access bid attachments until this registration is complete. (See Vendor Registration Walk Through for help with the registration process.) Prior registration with Michigan's purchasing and accounting system (called MAIN) will not allow solicitation access, as this system previously utilized for bidding, awards, and payments will no longer be utilized by Purchasing Operations for bidding. Vendors must still register through the existing system, MAIN , for contract/purchase order award, payment, and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). The state apologizes for the inconvenience of the requirement for an additional registration; but due to lack of resources necessary to cover the expense of interfacing with previously installed technology (1994 implementation), this avenue is the only option available for the state to offer the benefits of updated technology. Registering vendors will select from new system benefit options including email notification of solicitation information, attachments and processes, along with other automated services, based on organization preferences.
Buyers from DMB Purchasing Operations, the Department of Treasury, and Michigan State Industries (MSI) of the Department of Corrections, will all post solicitations directly on the Web site. Dual Web site posting have been discontinued. Items posted on the existing site will continue to duplicate that on the bid4michigan.com site until the bid due date and time has passed, but all new solicitations and information will be available only on the Bid4Michigan Web site.
