State of Michigan bid system web updates:
"New Solicitation Notification System - Update"
As of 1/27/09 all new Department of Management & Budget (DMB), Purchasing Operations solicitations will be posted solely on the www.bid4michigan.com
Web site.
The State will no longer be maintaining two sites for bid posting. All present links to Bids and Proposals for DMB Purchasing Operations will be redirected to the new site.
Vendors who have not yet registered on the new bid system, will be unable to access bid attachments until this registration through
www.bid4michigan.com
is complete.
Prior registration with Michigan's purchasing and accounting system (called MAIN) will not allow solicitation access, as this system previously utilized for bidding, award and payment will no longer be utilized by Purchasing Operations for bidding.
Vendors must still register through the existing system
MAIN
, for contract/purchase order award, payment, and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
The state apologizes for the inconvenience of the requirement for an additional registration; but due to lack of resources necessary to cover the expense of interfacing with previously installed technology (1994 implementation) this avenue is the only option available for the state to offer the benefits of updated technology. Registering vendors will select from new system benefit options including: email notification of solicitation information, attachments and processes, along with other automated services, based on organization preferences.
The Department of Information Technology and the Department of Management and Budget designed the Master Vendor Program in 2003 to create an expeditious method of procuring information technology services for the State.
