- Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) - issued by the Federal Government
- Treasury account number (TR prefix followed by seven digits) - a TR number will be assigned if you do not have a FEIN when you register with the Michigan Department of Treasury.
- Michigan Establishment (ME prefix followed by seven digits) - an ME number may be issued even if you have a FEIN. ME numbers are issued if Michigan sales, use, or withholding tax returns are filed from more than 1 location, or a payroll service is remitting withholding for the taxpayer. Thus, you can keep your tax accounts accurate by filing separate returns for each account number.
- Corporation Division File Number - a number used by the Bureau of Commercial Services to access entity information.
