| OFM Notices |
|
The most important messages of concern to FACS, HRS and MIDB users of MAIN are only an electronic mailbox away. Users are able to subscribe to a service (LISTSERV OFM-Notices) through which OFM communicates essential information to users in the fastest and most accurate manner possible. This service works like a group mailing, going to all users who subscribe to it.
After users subscribe, here's what they will receive:
-
System availability notices, including upcoming changes, when the system will be down, and when the system will be up again;
-
Alerts and/or tips from OFM Help Desk;
-
FACS Tips & Techniques;
-
Meeting schedules, including agenda, date, time, place, and expected participants, as appropriate;
-
Training opportunities, including updates to previously published schedules; and
-
Notices of user documentation updates (.pdf format).
Here's how users are able to subscribe through Groupwise E-Mail:
-
Use the following address in the "To" box:
-
listserv@listserv.michigan.gov
-
Leave the "Subject" box blank
-
Type the following in the "Message" box:
SUBSCRIBE OFM-NOTICES first name last name
(e.g., SUBSCRIBE OFM-NOTICES john doe)
After subscribing, users will receive confirmation that they have been added to OFM LISTSERV service. The confirmation will include detailed instructions on how best to utilize the service. Once you begin receiving LISTSERV messages, you will be able to quickly identify messages of interest to you by looking at the subject line.
In addition to messages, OFM staff can send attachments to all LISTSERV subscribers, and will do so when appropriate. Attachments can be displayed or printed.
Users should remember that LISTSERV will provide only one-way communication, and they should not reply to messages. All replies will be rejected by LISTSERV.
Users with questions or needing help should call the OFM Help Desk at 517/373-6222 or 1-800/856-6246 (not local) and select the Miscellaneous Queue.
