| the internship is a great idea for people to get competitive experience on their resume. what i have noticed though is that students (yuong/adult) often need a paid internship to survive and pay their bils- unless they can receive other support (family/social services). |

| I moved to a big city for a summer to do an unpaid, full-time internship. While taking a pay cut was a drag, the experience I got was priceless. I have been told by many employers that having that internship on my resume was one of the main reasons they hired me. If you can find a paid internship, great - but if not, don't let it stop you. You won't regret it. |
