"During an emergency, the Attorney General is responsible for ensuring that the legal rights of the State and its citizens are protected. My office is ready to provide legal service to decision makers so they are able to make critical decisions affecting the lives of the people of Michigan. We have developed training tools for the courts and other lawyers to help them make decisions and advise their government clients on the various laws that would be implicated during a disaster. Together we can help maintain calm in the face of a storm, certainty during a time of fear, and ensure our citizens that the law will be followed and order maintained."
