Introducing MiUI University
The Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) is transitioning from its current Michigan Web Account Manager (MiWAM) system to a new, modern platform called MiUI. Employers and third-party administrators (TPAs) are scheduled to begin using MiUI for tax functions on February 23, 2026. Employers, TPAs, and claimants are expected to begin using MiUI for benefits functions in summer of 2026.
To help users prepare for the modern, user-friendly system, UIA has created this MiUI University website. Here, users will find a regularly updated library of resource guides, FAQs, videos, infographics, trainings, blogs, and much more.

MiWAM will be offline from 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, through Sunday, Feb. 22. Other services such as MARVIN, Local Offices, and Customer Service and Office of Employer Ombudsman phones will also be unavailable during the transition to a new, modern computer system called MiUI. Services will be restored Monday morning, Feb. 23. Check out this video of UIA Director Jason Palmer explaining the MiWAM Downtime Period.
UIA will allow claimants to certify work searches using MARVIN at any time Tuesday, Feb. 17 through 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, regardless of designated day and time.
Michigan.gov/UIA will be available during this period with resources for claimants and employers, as well as UIA’s online chatbot to answer general questions about unemployment.
