The Rural Development Fund Board, housed in the Office of Rural Prosperity, has oversight of the Rural Development Fund. The Board is charged with advising the Office on how to distribute tax revenue collected from mines to improve and strengthen local communities. Director is a voting member and makes final decision on projects (Public Act 411 of 2012).

The Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) is transitioning from its current Michigan Web Account Manager (MiWAM) system to a new, modern platform called MiUI. Employers and third-party administrators (TPAs) started using MiUI for tax functions on February 23, 2026. Employers, TPAs, and claimants are scheduled to begin using MiUI for benefits functions on Nov. 9, 2026.
To help users prepare for the modern, user-friendly system, UIA has created this MiUI University website. Here, users will find a regularly updated library of resource guides, FAQs, videos, infographics, trainings, blogs, and much more.

The final transition to the new, modern MiUI system is scheduled for November 9, 2026. Once MiUI is live, it will be used for all unemployment insurance functions for those receiving benefits, employers, and third-party administrators. The old system, MiWAM, will no longer be accessible after Go Live. Please make sure all of your information (addresses, phone numbers, etc.) is up to date and accurate in MiWAM to facilitate the transition.
