In Michigan we believe that ending and preventing homelessness is achievable. Homeless episodes should be rare, brief and one-time in all Michigan communities. It is understood that homelessness is a complex and dynamic issue which will require a multi-faceted set of solutions. To that end, Michigan communities and state leadership are committed to deploying innovative solutions to ensure that any Michigan resident who experiences homelessness does so only once and for the shortest time possible. We are committed to preventing homelessness by practicing homeless system diversion wherever possible. For those experiencing homelessness, we are committed to quickly connecting them with high-quality housing and services tailored to their unique needs to help them achieve housing stability. Michigan Campaign to End Homelessness Social Media Toolkit
To better serve homeless assistance providers, the Michigan Campaign to End Homelessness is providing this site as a resource to help as you navigate the quickly changing landscape of this pandemic and the necessary adjustments that will need to take place within your programs and services.
Individual housing needs assessments and service referrals are done through a single, centralized Housing Assessment and Resource Agency (HARA) in every community. Each HARA has a Housing Resource Specialist that works with individuals to gather information to determine both need and eligibility and then connect them to services, as appropriate.
