MADE is a national consortium created in preparation for a USDOL Pay‑for‑Performance grant opportunity to expand Registered Apprenticeships across the Shipbuilding, Defense and Submarine Industrial Base. We’re seeking current and potential Registered Apprenticeship Program Sponsors, Labor Unions, Group Sponsors (Intermediaries), Employer Associations, Small Businesses, and other stakeholders.

The FOA-ETA-26-19 Pay-for-Performance Incentive Payments Program grant proposal was officially submitted on Friday, April 3, 2026. To support the state’s Registered Apprenticeship expansion efforts, a state-level Michigan Apprenticeship Advisory Body was established. The body consists of members from multiple industry sectors, labor, secondary and postsecondary education, workforce development and the U.S. Department of Labor Michigan Office of Apprenticeship.
The body provides guidance on innovation and implementation strategies for grantees working to expand Registered Apprenticeship Program opportunities and ensure program performance targets and sustainability result.
