Three national organizations can also provide information and help connect callers to their local domestic violence or sexual assault agency:
National Teen Dating Abuse Hotline Number - Just for teens. You can talk one-on-one with a trained advocate 24/7 who can offer support and connect you to resources.
The Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN)
The National Sexual Assault Online Hotline - Help and support for victims of sexual assault who may be unable or unsafe using a national telephone hotline.
The National Domestic Violence Hotline (NDVH)
While the Michigan Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment Board (MDVPTB) does not provide direct support to individuals or their friends and family who are impacted by domestic, dating and sexual violence, we believe it is important to connect those seeking help to local agencies that do provide these critical services. The MDVPTB funds 44 domestic violence agencies providing services to all 83 Michigan counties as well as 29 sexual assault agencies reaching 56 Michigan counties.
Both females and males can be victims of dating/domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, but studies consistently reveal the majority of victims are female. To address that reality, on this website most references are to victims as female and abusers as male because to deny the reality only delays finding the solution. Every victim, however - male or female - deserves support, options, resources, and safety, therefore, the resources listed here are ready to help any victim, regardless of gender.
