Community Involvement

Twins All of our positions at the Department of Community Health (MDCH) touch the people of Michigan, directly or indirectly. We work together at the MDCH to make individuals healthier, families safer and communities stronger. To achieve these goals, we educate communities through Michigan Events, Education and Outreach.  

Education and Outreach
The MDCH is involved in communities throughout Michigan. Our programs promote wellness and teach people how to be healthier. To access specific program area and learn more about the work we do and the services we provide, visit our homepage. In the meantime, here are a few examples:

Community Leave 
To encourage community involvement, employees receive 8 hours of leave annually to participate in certain school or community functions. Examples include volunteering at shelters, food banks, charity events, school activities, etc.
