18Andy Ammann Memorial Woodcock Viewing Area dedicated A gentle rain fell Thursday evening, June 6, as family, friends and fellow sportsmen gathered to remember Dr. George ("Andy") Ammann, former grouse and woodcock biologist for the Michigan DNR, and to dedicate the newly created Andy Ammann Memorial Woodcock Viewing Area at the DNR Rose Lake Wildlife Research Area in Clinton and Shiawassee counties.
18Summer Solstice Celebration at Porcupine Mountains Folk School on June 21 - rain or shine The Friends of the Porkies invite the public to join them for the second annual Summer Solstice Celebration at the Porcupine Mountains Folk School, located inside Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in Ontonagon, on Friday, June 21.
18Upgrade to DNR's license sales system to create better customer experience The Department of Natural Resources will be upgrading its license sales system, both in the stores and online, effective Thursday, June 20. These upgrades will streamline the buying process; customers will be able to make their purchases in fewer clicks, and new safeguards will be in place to prevent mistakes.
