federal issues

While the MPSC regulates telecommunications services at the state level, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulates telecommunications services at the federal level.  The MPSC has the jurisdiction and authority to administer the Michigan Telecommunications Act (MTA) and all federal telecommunications laws, rules, orders, and regulations that are delegated to the state.  As such, the MPSC closely monitors actions at the federal level and files comments to the FCC on issues that may impact the regulatory authority of the MPSC and/or State of Michigan customers.
